Breast Implant Surgery

During the operation, a cut (incision) will be made in the skin next to the treated breast(s). Your surgeon will discuss with you the location of the incisions beforehand so you're aware of where the scars will be.

After the incision, the implant is positioned between your breast tissue and chest muscle, or behind your chest muscle. Once the implants are in place, the incision is stitched and covered with a dressing.

Male Breast Reduction Surgery Benefits

There are a number of reasons as to why some men develop ‘man boobs’. Overly large male breasts can develop through:

  • a hormone imbalance which has triggered an abnormal growth in the glandular tissue beneath the breast
  • excessive alcohol consumption
  • obesity or after considerable weight loss
  • the natural ageing process, often associated with some weight gain
  • use of certain medications/drugs
  • the body’s inability to lose the excess breast tissue frequently developed during puberty

In most cases however, the specific underlying cause is unknown.

Breast Augmentation Procedure

Breast Augmentation Surgery is performed to balance a difference in breast size, improve body contour or as a post-surgery reconstructive technique. Silicone shells filled with saline solution are implanted either directly under the breast tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle, giving breasts a fuller and more natural contour.

The methods for inserting and positioning implants depend on the patient's anatomy and doctor recommendations. Incisions are made in as inconspicuous an area as possible - usually the armpit, around the aerola (nipple area), or under the breast itself to minimize visible scarring. Working through these incisions, the doctor lifts the breast tissue and inserts the implant. It is then centered beneath the nipple, either under or above the pectoral muscle.

Breast Reduction Surgery India

Breast Reduction Surgery can be defined as the surgical reduction of breast volume to achieve a smaller aesthetically shaped breast mound with concomitant relief of the potential symptoms of a large breast. There is some evidence to suggest that breast reduction surgery may reduce the individual risk of breast cancer.

Younger patients normally come with psychological issues and personal embarrassment and are the key elements in their decision to seek surgery. Large breasts are difficult to assess for swellings and lumps, thus making cancer detection difficult.

Breast Reduction Surgery India

Women with very large, pendulous breasts may experience a variety of medical problems caused by the excessive weight, from back and neck pain and skin irritation to skeletal deformities and breathing problems. Bra straps may leave indentations in their shoulders. And unusually large breasts can make a woman breast-feeding feel extremely self-conscious. Breast reduction surgery, technically known as reduction mammaplasty, is designed for such women. The surgical procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The goal is to give the woman smaller, better shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.

Women who have breast reduction surgery span a range of ages, from their teens to their 80s. However, for younger candidates, it’s usually wise to wait until at least age 20 to make sure the breasts have stopped growing.

Breast Reconstruction Techniques

The most common technique for post-mastectomy reconstruction is the insertion of an implant after a balloon expander has stretched the skin over the breast enough to allow room for an implant. Through a tiny valve beneath the skin, salt-water solution is periodically injected into the expander over many weeks or months. After the skin over the breast area has stretched enough, a more permanent implant is inserted. Breast in both male and female consists of glands embedded in fat.

An alternative approach to implant reconstruction involves the creation of a new breast by surgically moving a section (flap) of skin, fat, and muscle from another part of the patient’s body – usually from the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, or upper back.
